Mike Marsh is a world-renowned, award-winning drummer from Miami, FL with a career spanning over 20 years. He is best known for his tenure in Dashboard Confessional, as his drumming is featured on all studio albums and subsequent tours.
Notable releases include Dashboard’s platinum-selling MTV Unplugged 2.0 CD/DVD, and gold records The Places You’ve Come to Fear the Most; A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar; and Dusk and Summer. Their latest album, Alter the Ending, included an international chart-topping single, “Belle of the Boulevard.” Dashboard Confessional also co-headlined the first-ever Rock Band tour with Panic at the Disco. Past tours included opening slots for Bon Jovi, Weezer, Beck, and U2.
Legendary producer Rick Rubin hand selected Mike to play on The Avett Brothers’ 2009 major label debut I and Love and You, and he is also featured on the band’s live DVD.
As well as being an accomplished drummer, Mike is also a vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter, engineer, and producer. Currently, he is engineering, producing, and playing drums on a record for Nashville-based indie rockers Radar Vs Wolf. Las Vegas indie/alt rockers A Penny For Jane tapped Mike to produce their 2008 debut self-titled EP, as well as perform drums, backing vocals, and some lead vocal cameos on the recording. Mike also produced recordings for his first band, the legendary Miami punk/indie rock outfit, The Agency.
In 2008, Mike began writing a series of songs that culminated in his first solo effort, Paper. Blending Abacab and Duke era Genesis with his own modern style, Mike is exploding onto the solo scene with an honest, refreshing blast of prog/pop – providing fun, catchy songs with a dark twist that compel you to sing along. Paper’s debut album, Sunbeam, is due to be released in the spring of 2012.
Sonor Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth, and Remo Heads all endorse Mike Marsh.
